The upcoming cameras will come with support for XQD and CF Express memory cards along with an electronic viewfinder that packs a 3.6-megapixel resolution. The report noted that it was unclear if 3.6 referred to the megapixel resolution of million dots. The company is planning to launch lenses with focal lengths of 24-70mm, 35mm f/1.4, and 50mm f/1.4 at launch with 24mm coming later.
The company is planning to sell the 25-megapixel model along with a lens for under $3,000 (approximately Rs 206,800), and the 45-megapixel model along with a 24-70mm lens for about $4,000 (approximately Rs 275,700). Nikon has not issued any official statement in response to this report and no other information is available about the upcoming cameras. However, if the company needs to take on Sony then it needs to ensure that the cameras will come with some standout features that can pull the customers to choose a Nikon over Sony.
