There’s an image revolving around Twitter stating that the iOS 8 apparently comes with a new feature called Wave. This feature reportedly charges your Apple device when you place it in the microwave. It is important to note (if you haven’t already guessed it!) that this feature is nothing but a hoax and is doing the rounds as a snarly joke. The bunk photo posted on social networks claims, You can now Wave-charge your device by placing it within a household microwave for a minute and a half. It goes even further to add, iOS 8 contains new drivers that interface with your device s radio-baseband allowing it to synchronize with microwave frequencies.
A few users even put up burnt pictures of the iPhone to fan the joke even more.

If you haven’t already guessed it, yes, it’s a joke. There is no wave feature and your phone will not survive the microwave test. To know what the iOS 8 really entails, you can read our key feature post here. iOS 8 is available for all users, and you can find out which devices are compatible here.
