Samsung Galaxy S9 CES 2018 unveiling
Trusted leakster Evan Blass revealed that Samsung will be unveiling two smartphones at CES 2018 which will take place in January in Las Vegas. These smartphones are the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. This is expected to be an unveiling, or more like a teaser of sorts as Samsung is said to hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in March for the official launch. The leakster further revealed that the Galaxy S9 smartphones will be identical in design and will not have major upgrades over the previous series.
Nokia 2 India price and availability
After having globally launched the Nokia 2 last month, the smartphone s pricing and availability details for the Indian market have been revealed. The Nokia 2 is priced at Rs 6,999 and will be available for purchase from November 24 across major retail stores. Reliance Jio users on purchasing the Nokia 2 will get 45GB of 4G data on recharges of Rs 309 and above. The Nokia 2 s highlight is its 4,100mAh battery which is claimed to offer two days of juice on a single charge.
Xiaomi new Redmi smartphone launch on November 30
Xiaomi s been pretty busy with its Make in India plans recently, and unveiled its next project today. Xiaomi teased the launch of Desh Ka Smartphone in India which will take place on November 30. Although no details have been revealed, this Redmi smartphone is expected to fall in the budget category and will possibly be manufactured in India. Xiaomi recently unveiled its first non-smartphone manufacturing unit in India. It also launched the Mi Power Bank 2i manufactured at this plant.
Umang smartphone app launched
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched e-governance app, Umang at the 5th Global Conference on Cyberspace. The app has been developed by MeitY and offers access to over 100 state and central government services. It also comes with Digital India services like Aadhaar, DigiLocker, and PayGov. You can use Umang smartphone app for e-governance services like paying utility bills, filing income tax, booking LPG cylinder, among others. The app is available to download on Android and iOS.
Apple’s headquarters raided in South Korea
Igniting well-known rivalry, Apple s headquarters were reportedly raided by South Korean authorities questioning the company s business plans for the iPhone X launch. The iPhone X is scheduled to go on sale on November 24 in South Korea. This probe is suspected to be a continuation of the Korean FTC s investigation on Apple and local mobile carriers last year. Pre-orders for the iPhone X have already exceeded expectations in South Korea leading to a possible turn of events for Samsung in its home turf.
