The Nokia 3 is now reportedly getting the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update. The roll out has finally commenced after HMD Global had promised to update the smartphone by the end of August. HMD Global‘s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas announced earlier in July via Twitter that Android 7.1.1 Nougat will reach Nokia 3 smartphones by the end of August. However, in a follow-up conversation, Juho clarified that a global rollout will only happen when the company has got market ‘specific approvals’. The Nokia 3 available in global markets (except the US) is now receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. As per the changelog, the update brings performance improvements, improved system stability along with user interface enhancements. While users will be notified when the OTA update is available, there is a way to check manually for updates. Head over to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update. Considering the update file size, it is recommended one is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. The update will require a reboot for a successful installation, hence it is advisable to have the smartphone’s battery charged to at least 50 percent.
