HMD Global sent media invites for an event on August 21 where it is widely expected to launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus, also called as Nokia X6 in China. But in the meantime, the Finnish smartphone maker has introduced three new smartphones in the country.
HMD Global, the company with license to sell Nokia-branded devices, has launched the next generation Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 in India. The new Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1 were first introduced in Russia and have now made their way to India as well. The company says all the three devices will be available starting August 12 across top mobile retailers and online on Paytm Mall and Nokia’s own website. All the three smartphones run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and will get promised upgrade to Android 9 Pie later this year.
“With this range, we deliver larger screens, enhanced performance across our range with processor upgrades offering up to 50% higher performance while maintaining the perfect balance with power consumption and stunning designs – all in a segment where consumers often need to compromise,” said Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head, India, HMD Global.
