Earlier this year at MWC 2018, the company had announced that all its future devices will be based either on Android One or Android Go program, making it the only brand offering overwhelming support to Google’s partner programs.
HMD Global launched Nokia 6.1 as the successor or 2018 version of last year’s Nokia 6. The smartphone did not receive much changes in terms of design but offers improved specifications. With Nokia 6.1 Plus, the company might embrace taller aspect ratio for the smartphone which is a trend for smartphones across all price segments.
As the name implies, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will be slotted between the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 plus. As far as internals are concerned, the Nokia 6.1 Plus might use Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, the new mid-range chipset being favored by Xiaomi and Asus. It should be offered with 4GB of RAM and option for either 32GB or 64GB storage.

There is no clarity on the camera specifications or overall features just yet. It is most likely that HMD Global will debut Nokia 6.1 Plus at IFA 2018 in August. There is also a possibility that the Nokia 6.1 Plus is launched alongside Nokia 5.1 Plus at a separate event.
