As expected, HMD Global has today launched the Nokia 6.1 Plus with a notched display in India. The smartphone was first launched as Nokia X6 in China, and has been renamed to Nokia 6.1 Plus for the global market. With Nokia 6.1 Plus, the Finnish company is aiming to steal market share from brands like Xiaomi, Samsung and Honor, which dominate the mid-range segment.

The Finnish company, with license to sell Nokia-branded mobile phones, has gained market share in markets like Russia and UAE, but is yet to achieve major success in the Indian market. With India’s smartphone growing with double digit growth, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is help strengthen its presence.
