Regardless of factors like price and hardware specifications, all of HMD Global s smartphones run stock Android out-of-the-box, which makes for a clean and bloat-free user experience. The company s recent launches are even better because they are Android One-certified, and that means updates directly from Google. HMD Global has been steadily updating all its smartphones to the newest version of Android, and the latest to get the same is Nokia 7.1. Launched at an event in London last month, Nokia 7.1 is now getting stable version of Android 9 Pie. The news was announced via a tweet by Juho Sarvikas, HMD Global s Chief Product Officer.
As great as the news is, bear in mind that the update is being rolled out in a phased manner, so it may take a while to reach all Nokia 7.1 units out there.
Interestingly, HMD Global may soon be planning to bring Nokia 7.1 to Indian shores as well. The company has started sending invites for an upcoming launch event, scheduled for November 6 in New Delhi, where it could officially unveil the smartphone.

Despite being a mid-ranger, Nokia 7.1 comes with a lot of good stuff. The smartphone s defining feature is clearly its HDR-compliant display, which makes visuals look more vibrant and colorful. Nokia 7.1 can also convert SDR content to HDR in real-time, allowing for a consistent viewing experience.
