HMD Global has shipped a new Android Pie build update for the recently launched Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 8.1 smartphones. Both devices are already on Android 9.0 Pie, but the new build version V3.45A for Nokia 7.1 and V2.47A for Nokia 8.1 have been pushed out by the company including latest December 2018 security patch and few other improvements.
The Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 8.1 are part of Google’s Android One initiative. The reason to team up with Google was to ensure that the Nokia devices in the market get the latest Android security patches and major operating system updates as quickly as possible.
While the Nokia 8.1 was launched last week with Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box, the company updated Nokia 7.1 to Android Pie OS soon after its launch earlier this month in India. Now with latest Android Pie build update along with December security patch, the changelog by HMD notes improved system stability and user interface enhancements for the Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 8.1 devices.
We have also received the new Android 9 Pie build update for the Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 8.1 in India. The update V2.47A for Nokia 8.1 weighs 238MB in size, while the Nokia 7.1 update is 139.8 MB in size.
