For quite a while now, rumors and speculations regarding Nokia 7.1 Plus have been doing the rounds of the web. HMD Global, the Finnish company that holds the exclusive license to manufacture Nokia-branded smartphones, has an event scheduled for October 16 in China, where it’s expected to unveil Nokia 7.1 Plus (to be sold as Nokia X7 in China). Now, just hours before the official launch, the smartphone has leaked in full, confirming both its design and key specifications.
Shared by Slashleaks, the render shows Nokia 7.1 Plus from all angles. If it’s anything to go by, the smartphone will have a design language identical to its younger siblings – Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus. The front panel is seen with a wide notch, with a not-so-big chin at the bottom. The hybrid SIM/microSD card tray is located on the left, while the power button and volume rocker are on the right. There’s a ZEISS-branded dual-camera system at the back, with a circular fingerprint sensor below it. Up top is a 3.5mm audio port, while the bottom is shown with a mono speaker, as well as a USB Type-C port.
Talking about specifications, they are mostly in line with what the leaks and rumors have claimed over the past few weeks. Nokia 7.1 Plus is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone will most likely have a 6.18-inch notched display, with a resolution of 1080×2246 pixels. Like most of HMD Global’s smartphones, Nokia 7.1 Plus is expected to be Android One-certified.
