It appears that the recently launched Nokia 7.1 might soon get Android 9 Pie OS update. The handset was launched couple of weeks back with Android 8.1 Oreo, and now according to a new Geekbench listing, the smartphone is now being tested with latest Android 9 software.

Like most other smartphones in HMD Global s line-up, the Nokia 7.1 too is Android One-certified. It runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, and during the launch it was promised to get an update to Android Pie soon.

Nokia has already starting rolling out the Android 9 Pie update to Nokia 7 Plus late last month, although in between the process, Juho Sarvikas once pointed out delay due to specific certification bugs. Anyhow, the Pie update made Nokia 7 plus among one of the first non-Pixel smartphone to get the update.
