Only a month back Nokia rolled out the Android 9.0 Pie DP4 (Beta 4) update for its Nokia 7 Plus smartphone. While that’s great, the company is getting its users even closer to a stable version of Android 9 Pie, by rolling out a new and possibly the last Android 9.0 Pie beta update for the smartphone.
The latest update, which is dubbed as v3.190 weighs roughly around 1.5GB in size and is currently available via OTA for those who have signed up for the developer preview. While the last update got gesture controls, this time around users are getting access to a new system navigation, settings menu and notification management.
The changelog also mentions a new battery optimization system, which prioritizes performance based on the importance of apps and services. Additionally, Nokia has also improved on optimization of screen brightness levels and some predictive application actions. Lastly, the update also comes with Google security patch for September 2018.
If you’re too eager to try out Android 9 Pie OS before Nokia releases a final version later in the year, then you can do so by first enrolling into Nokia’s developer program on its official website. It’s worth noting however, that downloading Android 9 Pie will make you lose all the existing data on the smartphone, so a complete backup is recommended before starting the process. Being a beta update, the operating system is still subject to a number of bugs, so be aware. While Nokia hasn’t revealed an official date for releasing the final update, it shouldn’t be that far off. So, you can choose to wait it out as well.
