Now, it seems those efforts are bearing fruit, as the Nokia 7 Plus is all set to get the stable build of the latest Android 9 Pie by the end of September 2018. The upper mid-range smartphone, which was launched earlier this year (along with Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 8 Sirocco) is one of the few non-Pixel smartphones to have been included in the Android beta program. Now that the beta testing is in its final stages, HMD Global has mentioned that Nokia 7 Plus will receive Android 9.0 Pie by the end of next month.
The confirmation came from none other than HMD Global s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas, who was in India at the launch of the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus. This would make Nokia 7 Plus the first Snapdragon 6XX-series smartphone to run the latest version of Android.
