Ever since HMD Global brought the Nokia name back into the world of smartphones, it has launched a handful of Nokia-branded Android smartphones. Not just that, the Finnish company has also done a great job of supporting its devices with relevant updates. Many of HMD Global s recent launches have already received Android Pie, the latest version of Google s mobile operating system. However, that doesn t include Nokia 8.

According to a report by MySmartPrice, Nokia 8 was recently spotted on a Geekbench listing running Android Pie. This essentially means that HMD Global is almost done testing the latest update for its former flagship (the smartphone has been superseded by Nokia 8 Sirocco), and could release Android Pie for Nokia 8 anytime now.

Apart from the usual goodies, Android Pie for Nokia 8 is also expected to bring enhanced camera performance and support for ARCore. This was confirmed a few months back by HMD Global s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas, in response to a user s query about the update.
