Ever since HMD Global brought back the legendary Nokia brand back into the mobile world, the Finnish company has launched quite a handful of Android-powered smartphones. Not just that, so far, it has done a pretty great job at keeping all of them consistently updated, with the latest being Nokia 8 Sirocco. According to a report by Nokiapoweruser, the flagship-grade Nokia 8 Sirocco, which was launched earlier this year, is now getting Android security patch for the month of October. Based on user reports, the update currently seems to be available only in India and Russia. However, since OTA updates are always rolled out in phases, eventually all Nokia 8 Sirocco units out there will receive the patch. Weighing around 89MB, the update includes general bugfixes and patches some critical security loopholes. Most importantly, it fixes a severe vulnerability in the framework, which could allow a remote hacker to use a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of a privileged process.
The current standard-bearer of HMD Global s smartphone line-up, Nokia 8 Sirocco is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and a regular 16:9 aspect ratio. It runs Android Oreo out-of-the-box, with an upgrade to Android Pie arriving soon.

For imaging duties, Nokia 8 Sirocco has a dual camera system at the back, comprised of a 12-megapixel sensor and a 13-megapixel sensor. Up front, there s a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Backing up the whole package is a 3,260mAh battery with both fast charging and wireless charging support.
