HMD Global will be unveiling the next flagship smartphone from the Nokia brand. After the trio of Nokia-branded Android smartphones launched through the year, the company is now set to bring the fourth smartphone to India, called the Nokia 8. From the ‘bothie’ dual-camera functionality to OZO Audio and liquid cooling, Nokia 8 is said to bring in a number of top-end features to the category of flagship smartphones. Launched running on Android Nougat out-of-the-box, the smartphone recently received Android Oreo beta, which means we can hope to see the stable version running on the units shipped in the country.

The Nokia 8 flaunts a 5.3-inch IPS 2K resolution display with 700nits of brightness. It is covered with Corning s Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SOC is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. For optics, the smartphone includes a dual-camera module at the back which comprises of a pair of 13-megapixel Carl ZEISS sensors. One of the sensors is a RGB color sensor, while the other is a monochrome sensor. Similar to the Huawei P9, these two sensors work together to capture the same subject in color and monochrome, and then stitch it together to achieve a richer final image. The color sensor comes with optical image stabilization, PDAF, and aperture f/2.0. Up front, there is a 13-megapixel camera for selfies and video-calling. The Nokia 8 also features three microphones for audio recording. It uses Nokia s OZO Audio technology to capture audio with 360-degree spatial surround sound. The smartphone is fueled by a 3,090mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, IP54 certification for splash resistance. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0.
