Nokia 9 is expected to be HMD Global‘s next big flagship smartphone. Ahead of its official launch sometime later this year, the device has leaked multiple times suggesting that it will feature not one, not two but five different camera lens on the back. The Nokia 9 is now widely seen as the first smartphone to adopt penta-lens setup and in theory, feature more cameras than any other smartphone in the market.
While the most recent leak showed what the penta camera setup on the Nokia 9 might look like, a new leak sheds more light on the upcoming smartphone. A new leaked image suggests that the Nokia 9 will pack a massive 4,150mAh battery. In addition to the battery capacity, the leak gives us another look at the penta camera setup. Here is what we know so far about the upcoming Nokia 9:
Nokia 9 will be the first smartphone to feature five different camera setup on the back. The leaked shows that these sensors will be placed in a ring-style architecture. Three of the sensors are expected to be stacked below each other in a vertical alignment while two other sensors are likely to be placed on either side.
All these sensors will carry Zeiss branding and will work according to Zeiss’ patented “Miniature zoom camera” technology. The patent describes a mechanism where the primary wide-angle lens will act as constant image sensor while all other sensors will revolve around it to deliver zoom effect. The leaked image, however, depicts a setup where all the five sensors are in fixed position and might offer variable focal lengths.
Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, recently teased his visit to Zeiss lab on Twitter, which could be related to development around the penta-camera tech on Nokia 9. In terms of specifications, the Nokia 9 is expected to sport a 5.9-inch OLED display with Quad HD+ resolution and could use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.
