Ever since HMD Global brought the legendary Nokia brand back into the mobile world, the Finnish company has launched, among a plethora of other devices, two flagship smartphones Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco. While these two are great, ardent fans are still waiting for a true top-of-the-line smartphone. For the past few months, countless rumors have all but confirmed that this true flagship exists and is about to launch soon. Earlier speculated to be simply called Nokia 9, a report last month said that the device would instead bear the moniker Nokia 9 PureView. Now, some new information has surfaced about Nokia s mythical flagship. Also Read - Nokia ultra-premium flagship phone could release sooner than you think
According to a report by Nokiamob, the upcoming Nokia 9 PureView bears the codename Olympic and runs (as of now) the latest Android Pie with the most-recent November security patch.
The information was grabbed by Love Nokia from the servers of FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Foxconn, which manufactures numerous electronic devices (ranging from smartphones to gaming consoles) for many well-known technology companies.
As noted by Nokiamob s report, the codename Olympic is most likely an allusion to the five rings of the Olympic Games official logo, since Nokia 9 PureView has been rumored to come with an insane penta-camera system at the back.

Coming to the OS version, it is indeed Android Pie with November security patch. In addition, as noted by Love Nokia, the yet-to-be-launched Nokia 9 PureView runs a Chinese build of Google s mobile OS. This means that Nokia 9 PureView could initially launch in China (like most of HMD Global s smartphones have in the recent past), followed by a wider rollout around the world.
