HMD Global has released a massive new update for the camera software of its Nokia smartphones. The new Nokia Camera application with the version number 90.0.1123.20 will work on all Nokia smartphones. The update introduces new features like Google Lens, Motion Photos, and there is an all-new UI incorporated as well.
According to Beebom, the new update is 247MB in size, and works fine on Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco smartphones. But the Nokia 6.1 has some issues with it, and shows an incompatibility error message when the update is installed. The new Nokia 6.1 Plus, on the other hand, comes with the new camera application update installed on it.
Nokia has now followed in the footsteps of OnePlus and Asus to integrate Google Lens as a default feature in its camera application. And with Google Lens integrated in the camera app users can tap on an object while in the camera to trigger machine learning from Google to attempt to recognize what the object is. According to reports this feature has a hit and miss ratio, and is not always successful at identifying objects in the camera.

Those users that want to download the new update of the Nokia Camera application, can do so from the Google Play Store. The change log of the app does not mention any other significant changes in the app. This was an expected update since the company had already mentioned that its camera app will be getting the Google Lens feature.
