Apart from launching Android smartphones across price segments, HMD Global has also been big on stoking the nostalgia factor in users. After the Nokia 3310, Nokia 8110, and reintroducing the Sirocco brand, HMD Global is seemingly gearing up to bring back another iconic brand. Today marks the thirteenth anniversary of the launch of Nokia s iconic N-series of phones. HMD Global seems to be planning on marking the occasion by bringing back the N-series. The company has put out a teaser on Weibo (spotted by AndroidHeadlines) that hints at a launch event on May 2 in Beijing, where it could launch a N-branded device. The accompanying image in the teaser shows the Nokia N9, which was first introduced back in 2011 running MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan. Could the teaser mean that we could see a Nokia N9 smartphone running Android OS? While it does sound exciting, it is too soon to say as there are no details available.

In the meanwhile, HMD Global is widely expected to launch a new Nokia smartphone in China today. If all the rumors are to be believed, the smartphone in question could be the Nokia X6.

The Nokia X6 is expected to boast a Nokia 7 Plus-like design with a full-screen display and notch at the top. As for specifications, it is expected to come with a 5.8-inch full HD+ 19:9 display. It is likely to be available with different chipset options Helio P60 octa-core or Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC and storage options 64GB + 4GB RAM and 128GB + 6GB RAM.

For photography, the smartphone is expected to sport a dual-camera setup at the back, featuring at least one 12-megapixel sensor with Carl ZEISS lens. On the software front, it is safe to assume that the smartphone will run stock Android 8.1 Oreo.

Reports have also hinted at a possible price tag. The 64GB variant could be priced at RMB 1,599 (approximately Rs 16,800), while the 128GB variant could be priced at RMB 1,799 (approximately Rs 19,000).
