The N9 has been Nokia’s perennial orphaned child. Before launch its fate was sealed, as Nokia had abandoned its nascent yet promising MeeGo platform and jumped ship to Microsoft’s Windows Phone. Nokia did not even launch it globally, inspite of it gracing a delightful industrial design and a promising new OS. However there is some good news for N9 lovers as the boys at NIT Android have managed to port Google’s latest OS Android ICS to Nokia’s orphaned child. In the video posted by the NIT Android team the ICS UI seems to work well on the N9 hardware. Interestingly, it appears that the tablet version of the ICS code is being utilized as the UI is rendered in landscape mode.
