Nokia tries its hand at augmented reality, releases Live View beta

So far Augmented Reality (AR) has not been much more than a little hype but then we have companies like Qualcomm who are pretty serious about the whole thing. Not to be left behind, Nokia has released its version of an AR browser called Live View. Currently in beta, the app does what most AR viewers do – show points of interest via the onboard camera’s view finder – and then some more. For instance, you can share the location of any point of interest with others, get more information and read reviews of the place or get turn-by-turn walking directions to the place. The app, which is still in beta, can be downloaded from Nokia Beta Labs.
