Brand Nokia’s first Android device, the Nokia X, was first launched back in 2014. It is now rumored to make a comeback this year in a new avatar. Expected to be launched on April 27, the Nokia X (2018) version has reportedly received a certification wireless authority China Compulsory Certification (CCC), and based on the listing, the smartphone could be an entry-level, affordable device.

The CCC listing indicates that there will be two models of the purported Nokia X smartphone, code-named TA-1109 and TA 1099. As spotted by, both the models will come with a regular 10W charger that will have a standard 5V/2A charging rate.

Both models are unlikely to support fast charging, in line with their possible low pricing. It is worth mentioning that the original Nokia X, when launched, was also a low-end device, and thus, it is safe to assume its resurrection might also be a low-end, albeit an upgraded version of the original model.

Details on the specifications of the Nokia X are scarce at the moment. However, if we go by past reports, the two variants of the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon and MediaTek SoC respectively. To recall, the original Nokia X was powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and was based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) corresponding to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It featured a 4-inch IPS display and supported dual SIM cards.

Earlier this month, a digital hoarding of what is assumed to be the Nokia X was spotted in a mall. The ad mentioned a phone called Nokia X to be launched on April 27. The ad showed two phones crossing each other to form the letter ‘X’. If one goes by the look of the phone, it appears to be a compact-size budget device. However, as HMD Global is yet to reveal anything officially, it is advisable to take the information with the proverbial grain of salt.
