Nokia is hosting a press conference in New Delhi to launch its first “Android” smartphone in India today. The launch is happening within a fortnight of its global announcement at MWC where Nokia had announced three smartphones in its X-series – the X, X+ and XL. We expect the company to just launch the X and probably the X+ today, with the XL expected later in the quarter. Last week, The Mobile Store had made it public that the Nokia X would be available from March 15 for Rs 8,500, though Nokia did not confirm it. The presser is scheduled to begin at 11:30AM though expect a bit of a delay, which is usually the case with most launch events in India. Hit the break below and enjoy BGR India‘s live coverage. We also have our first impressions of the X-series of smartphones from MWC here, which should give you a better perspective of what to expect from the X-series.
There is very little to differentiate between the Nokia X and X+, with the X+ featuring a marginally bigger 768MB of RAM and comes with a 4GB microSD card inside the box. You can check out all the differences between the X, X+ and XL here.
