Nokia X7, the smartphone with the bigger notched display, set to launch in China today. The Nokia X7 is expected to make its debut in India and other global markets as Nokia 7.1 Plus. HMD Global recently launched the Nokia 7.1 at an event in London and the new Nokia X7 is expected to build on that design. It will feature a metal and glass sandwich design that Nokia is pioneering with its X series and will include a wide notch at the front. There will also be a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup with Zeiss optics on the back. The Nokia X7 (or Nokia 7.1 Plus) is expected to be the successor to Nokia 7 plus, which was widely conceived as the best device from the Finnish company yet. Ahead of its launch today, HMD Global has been teasing the device on Weibo, China’s micro-blogging platform. The company has posted three teasers so far on Nokia’s Weibo account and they show the tall display with a wide cutout at the top. There is a chin at the bottom but it seems to have been trimmed from what we saw on other models.
Nokia X7 Launch: Rumored Specifications and Features
The Nokia X7 is expected to feature a 6.18-inch LCD display with Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. The display, thanks to the notch, will extend to the edges of the device and offer taller 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the Nokia X7 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz. It will be coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage.
As far as camera is concerned, the Nokia X7 will feature dual rear camera setup and it could comprise of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, HMD Global could equip the smartphone with a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. The Nokia X7 will be another mid-range device running stock Android and will be part of the Android One programme.

The Nokia X7 or Nokia 7.1 Plus, is expected to offer performance improvements over Nokia 7.1 powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC. Nokia Mobile India has also published a teaser showing the upcoming smartphone suggesting that it will be launched as Nokia 7.1 Plus in the country sooner than later.
