Not a paradise: Exorbitantly priced tickets of Coldplay's India concert have shocked everyone

So, Chris Martin and gang are coming to India, you knew that, didn't you? But did you know that the tickets for the Coldplay concert are estimated to start at Rs 25,000? Bummed out? Well, the social media got too.

A couple of months ago Coldplay announced that they will be coming to India for a concert. Fans across the country were extremely excited for the same and people started saving up for the tickets and blocked dates in their calendars to ensure nothing and no one can stop them from attending the concert. If you are among those planning to go to the Coldplay concert, you must start saving money, lots of it. Organizers of Coldplay’s event in India have announced that prices of the tickets will range between Rs 25,000 and Rs 5 lakh. If you cannot afford, you should rather sulk, and watch the sky full of stars, and then sulk little bit more.

Creative Minds Entertainment, promoters of latest tours and gigs in India, announced that the official date and venue for the event. Along with that they also revealed the expected pricing of the pass, which actually triggered all the social media chaos. “The tickets are expected to be priced at Rs 25,000 and will go upto Rs 5 lakh. Steep? Yes of-course, but it is for a charitable cause. and the entire proceedings will be donated to the Global Citizen’s Poverty Project for which Chris was here last year and played a surprise gig at Delhi too. But we feel they will most likely be VIP, VVIP and above category tickets,” Creative Minds Entertainment wrote in a blog post.

The tickets for the concert are expected to go on sale between September 12 and September 15 via BookMyShow. The concert is scheduled to be held on November 19 at MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

Of course, the price of the tickets has come across as a big shocker to a lot of people. People in India have forgotten the ‘selling kidney for Apple iPhones’ joke, now that the price for the Coldplay concert passes are out. The Tweeples are really finding it difficult to come to terms with the ticket prices. After a brief phase of crying and howling and banging heads against walls, the social media has turned to self-mockery and making jokes on their own misery. So, if the prices of Coldplay tickets are making you feel poor, you’ll be able to find comfort in these tweets.

India has shared a special affinity with the Coldplay band in the past. Last year in July, Coldplay had come to India, and not a flying soul got to know about it (of course except the organizers, but they don’t count!). And when they got here, they made a special appearance at the Summer House Cafe lounge in Delhi, making the night for the people present there, and breaking thousands of hearts of people who missed it. But even back then Coldplay was in India for The Global Poverty Project.
