ZTE launched the Nubia M2 Play back in June, but the price and availability details of the smartphone were not known. However now, the smartphone has officially been launched in India for Rs 8,999. In terms of design, ZTE has kept the aesthetics of the smartphone very similar to that of M2 Lite launched in India back in May. The nubia M2 Play comes with a full metal body with a double diamond edge-cut frame. The front of the device comes with 2.5D glass that adds to the premium look of the phone. The fingerprint scanner is placed up front in a capsule-shaped home button. At the back, the camera module is placed on the top left corner with LED flash next to it. On the right-hand side, there is the power button whereas on the left-hand side you have the volume rockers.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, which expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.
For photography, the Nubia M2 Play features a 13-megapixel rear camera, which features a Sony CMOS lens, a f/2.2 aperture, and supports features like Beauty mode, HDR 4.0 and anti-shake to name a few. On the other hand, the front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel sensor, with a f/2.4 aperture, an 84-degree wide angle, and makes use of various beauty modes for selfies. Nubia also launched NeoVision6 software that helps users further augmented the camera capabilities of the device. The camera features such as Multi Exposure; Light Painting; Electronic Aperture; Slow Shutter; Star Trail; SLO-MO; Time-Lapse; Video Maker; Trajectory; DNG; Clone; Marco Camera; PANO are available in M2 Play. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery. The company claims that the Nubia M2 Play boasts Neo Power 2.5 technology package that helps in battery optimization. Connectivity options include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint sensor, a microUSB charge port, and it comes with a USB Type-C adapter in the box. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat on top of Nubia UI 5.0.
