There have been numerous rumors about Google and HTC teaming up to make the Nexus 9 tablet. However, a major lead from chip maker Nvidia reveals that the tablet will be unveiled in the coming weeks powered by its Tegra K1 processor. As a part of the lawsuit filed against Samsung and Qualcomm, Nvidia was forced to reveal the launch plans for the forthcoming Nexus 9 tablet. “The HTC Nexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014, is also expected to use the Tegra K1,” the lawsuit document read. This is in line with HTC CFO Chialin Chang’s statement to BGR India that the company would get back in the tablet game and launch one later this year. HTC has sent out media invites for an event on October 8 in New York City. The Nexus 9 could very well be unveiled then. Rumored specifications include an 8.9-inch 2048×1440 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, 3-megapixel front-facing camera and stereo front-facing speakers.
