Google is hosting an Android event on October 29 where it is expected to launch its 2012 Nexus device or devices. We have already heard a lot about the LG Nexus 4 in the past but this is probably the most credible leak we have had so far. This time the information comes from non other than Twitter user @evleaks, which has been pretty solid in the past too. Along with the photograph, which corresponds with what we have been hearing all along, they also have specifications for the next Nexus smartphone. According to information available at this time, the phone will indeed be called the Nexus 4. Features will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It runs on its Krait architecture and features an Adreno 320 GPU, which blew away Nvidia’s Tegra 3 and even Samsung’s Exynos quad-core processor in a recent benchmarking session we attended. Other features include a 4.7-inch display with 1280×768 pixel resolution, a 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front camera. It will apparently come in 8GB and 16GB variants and will have a 2,100 mAh battery. The device is said to be 9.1mm thin and would weigh 139 grams. Of course, we will come to know for sure only at the event when it is officially unveiled. Also Read - LG's white Nexus 4 caught in the wild
Google was earlier reported to be working with other hardware partners for launching multiple Nexus smartphones this year but we have not heard any significant leaks so far if they exist. The closest we have come is what is claimed to be the photograph of a Sony Nexus X earlier this week. But even that has turned out to be fake. Google is also said to be working with Samsung for a 10-inch Nexus tablet, which could also be announced at the event. It had launched a 7-inch tablet with Asus, the Nexus 7, earlier this year that received great reviews and has been successful with consumers.
