After Ola Cafe, the ride service app has now launched a separate standalone hyper local grocery delivery service called Ola Store. The new service debuts in Bangalore and claims to list 12,000 products across 13 product categories including fruits and vegetables, breakfast items, grocery and staple products, and  frozen food among others.

Unlike all of Ola’s previous offerings, this one is launched as a standalone app, separate of its core app. It aims at delivering all groceries instantly, and the complete list of product categories include fruits, vegetables, breakfast items, grocery, staple products, gourmet, frozen food, beverages, packaged food, household items, health supplements, medicines, baby care and personal care products.

The Ola Store, as mentioned above, has only been launched in Bangalore. The company aims to expand the stores to other cities eventually. Once the groceries are bought, users can choose from ‘Deliver Now’ which the company claims to complete within 90 minutes, and ‘Deliver Later’ that lets users choose convenient one-hour delivery window.

As you would expect, the immediate delivery incurs a charge. For normal deliveries, Ola charges Rs 30 for orders below Rs 250. For payment, users can choose from cash, credit card or Ola Money. As an introductory offer, Ola is offering a 20 percent discount on the first order.

The app is currently available only on Android, and takes up 6.4MB space on your smartphone. The reviewers from Bangalore have given the app 4.7 star rating, and have overall praised the delivery speed.

If you are a Bangalorean, you can head over to the Google Play Store to download the Ola Store app. Ola has also revealed that an iOS and Windows Phone app is in the pipeline.
