This partnership will let Yota develop the relevant devices for the India market while Olive Telecom will be keeping a check on the market trend and intelligence alongside providing local support for operations including network testing by operators as well as customization and after sales service.
So far, it is only Airtel that has launched the 4G LTE services in four cities including Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune and Chandigarh, and is further expected to expand the reach to Delhi and Mumbai. This apart, Reliance Jio has been betting big on the 4G LTE services by tying up with RCom for infrastructure sharing and service support, and Samsung for producing affordable 4G compatible devices falling in the sub-Rs 5,000 bracket. Reliance is expected to introduce their 4G TD-LTE service in India by the end of this year.
The entry of Yota at this point will help in pushing the 4G devices in the overall na ve ecosystem.
