OnePlus just announced the OnePlus 2 to the world in a unique virtual reality event from inside their office itself. CEO Pete Lau and co-founder Carl Pei addressed most of the launch event where they showed us how the OnePlus 2 is unique with its USB Type C cable, fingerprint scanner, StyleSwap covers, the unique Alert Slider and more. Pei also announced that the company is hosting pop-up events across nine cities in the world incuding Delhi and Bangalore, to mingle with the OnePlus team and get a hands-on with the OnePlus 2 before it goes on sale on August 11. “We are hosting pop-up events in New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, New Delhi, Bangalore, and Jakarta on July 31! Team members from OnePlus will be there to mingle and demo the OnePlus 2, not to mention you could win invites or even the OnePlus 2 itself. The Bangalore event is on July 31 is at the Cafe Coffee Day on Vittal Mallya Road between 4.30PM and 8PM, while the Delhi event is at the Cafe Coffee Day on Janpath between 4PM and 8PM. The OnePlus 2 is priced at Rs 22,999 for 16GB and Rs 24,999 for 64GB. As for the specifications are concerned, the OnePlus 2 flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 1080 pixels) In-Cell display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor paired with 4GB of RAM.
In the photography department, the OnePlus 2 features a 13-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture, 4K video shooting capabilities, dual-LED flash, optical image stabilization (OIS), as well as laser autofocus similar to what we have seen on the LG G4. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The OnePlus 2 comes in 16GB and 64GB internal storage variants priced at #329 and $389 respectively. It has a 3,300mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support on both SIM cards, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop-based Oxygen OS.
