OnePlus 2 is all set for a July 27 VR unveil, but before that happens, the company is revealing features of its next flagship in compartments. First, it let us know that the OnePlus 2 will have a Snapdragon 810 processor, then we got to know that the smartphone will be one of the first to sport a USB Type C port, and now the company has revealed that the OnePlus 2 will come with a fingerprint scanner. The company assures that it is the most ‘advanced sensor out there, and has claimed that it will even be better than Apple’s TouchID.
“With the OnePlus 2, the fingerprint sensor is done right. It’s refined and lightning quick, unlocking your device faster than TouchID. The average person checks their phone over 200 times per day. If you spend just three seconds inputting a PIN number or pattern, that’s over an hour of your time gone each week,” the company wrote on its forum.
OnePlus informed that users can store up to five fingerprint profiles on the smartphone, however it is unsure where the sensor will be placed. The OnePlus 2 is also tipped to have a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, and will be priced upwards of $322 (Rs 20,540 approximately).
It could flaunt a 3GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and on the software front, Android 5.1 Lollipop (wrapped under Oxygen OS in India/Hydrogen OS in China) out-of-the-box.
As mentioned above, the company has been revealing information in the form of regular teasers. The employees just posted their first selfie from the OnePlus 2 on Twitter, creating more buzz.
The OnePlus 2 will be one of the first smartphones to be launched via virtual reality. The OnePlus 2 will be unveiled at 7PM Pacific Time on July 27, which would mean 7:30 AM on July 28 Indian Standard Time. OnePlus has even made its own cardboard VR headset, which it will start selling for free but it seems consumers will have to pay for shipping.
