Recently the OnePlus 3, codenamed A3000, was spotted on AnTuTu benchmarking website, and the same has yet again surfaced on GFXBench as well. Interestingly another variant, codenamed A3003, has also been spotted on GeekBench, PhoneArena reports. While the A3000 comes with high-end specs and 4GB of RAM, the A3003 variant is believed to be the more expensive variant featuring 6GB of RAM. The standard OnePlus 3 variant is expected to feature a 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, and NFC among others. On the software front, it is expected to run on Android Marshmallow.
Details about the A3003 variant are scarce at best, and the only thing we do know is that it will boast 6GB of RAM. With the A3000 featuring a 5-inch display, another possibility is that this variant is the successor to last year’s OnePlus X, while the A3003 will be the successor to the OnePlus 2 featuring a bigger display.
According to leaked photos, the upcoming OnePlus 3 will look very different from the OnePlus 2, and will also boast a dedicated camera shutter button. It is also expected to feature dual-LED flash at the back, an Alert Slider on the side, and a USB-Type C port.
These are all speculations at the moment, and we may only have to wait a month to see the phone (or phones). Reports suggest that OnePlus is hosting an even in China on May 28, where the OnePlus 3 could be unveiled. It will then go on sale sometime in the first week of June. OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau recently was also quoted as saying that the upcoming OnePlus 3 will be more expensive than the OnePlus 2.
