OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T beta update released with improvements, bug fixes

The beta update comes with bug fixes for GPS connection drops, and faulty auto-night mode issue among others.

A new system update is available for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users. The update is only for Open Beta registered users, and is expected available on the official OnePlus site. OTA updates are expected to start streaming in the coming dates. For those not yet registered with the Beta program, can simply download and launch the new Open Beta update. The new update brings a host of improvements, bug fixes and enhancements and are titled OxygenOS Open Beta 5 for OnePlus 3T users and Open Beta 14 for OnePlus 3 users. The previous Beta build launched earlier this month came with a brand new launcher, and support for Android Nougat shortcuts. However, there were multiple issues with the build as reported by users and the latest Beta update tries resolving the existing issues. The issue of system reboot while trying to set a new wallpaper plus the malfunctioning wallpaper settings have been fixed in the new update. The night-mode issue where users had to manually turn night mode off has now been resolved. Sunrise timing has been updated to 6AM from 8AM. Car Bluetooth fixes also form a part of the update. The one issue OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users faced was dropped GPS connection the latest Beta build resolves the problem. Any OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T user is free to download the new Beta update. However, once the user opts for the Beta update, they automatically stop receiving stable version OTA updates. Shifting back to a stable OTA means wiping out all data and cache (reformatting the device).

OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T were both launched in quick succession. Recently, a yet-to-be-announced OnePlus device with model number A5000 was spotted on China Radio Regulation Authority database. The phone is most likely the OnePlus 5 (OnePlus will skip the number 4, considered unlucky in China), and will launch later this year. There have been no leaks around the phone though it is expected to run on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out-of-the-box, Snapdragon 835 processor and 8GB RAM with 256GB inbuilt memory.
