We are exactly a week away from the OnePlus 3, but there doesn’t seem any end to the leaks around this year’s flagship smartphone. We already have a fair idea of the upcoming smartphone’s looks, variants and features and the phone has now been spotted on a benchmarking website, revealing its specifications and features. Needless to say, most of them are in line with earlier leaks. The upcoming smartphone is also expected to feature a 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery with ‘Dash Charge’ support, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support and USB Type-C port. On the software front, it will run on Android Marshmallow-based Oxygen OS.
Based on what we have heard before, the OnePlus 3 will be available in six variants — 16GB, 32GB and 128GB variants with 4GB of RAM, and another three storage variants with 6GB of RAM onboard. The smartphone is also getting a major design overhaul and will be ditching the sandstone finish. As per leaked renders, the OnePlus 3 will instead boast a metal unibody.
The OnePlus 3 will be unveiled on June 14 10:00PM IST, and OnePlus is also hosting a launch event a day later in India. The global unveiling will be hosted in virtual reality and the company has already sold its new Loop VR headsets on Amazon India. Unlike before, OnePlus has already revealed that it is ditching its often frustrating invite system and the OnePlus 3 will be available on open sale from day one.
