OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its flagship OnePlus 3 smartphone on June 14 via a virtual reality event. A day later though, the company will host pop-up events in seven cities across the globe where the smartphone will be available anyone who wants some hands on time. These cities include Berlin, Paris, New York, London, and three Indian cities — New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. The pop-up events will take place right after the official unveiling of the OnePlus 3 on June 14 at 10:00PM IST. Following their decision to remove the need for invites to purchase the OnePlus smartphones, the company said that the OnePlus 3 too will be available for purchase from day one. OnePlus 3’s launch event kicks off at 10:00PM IST on June 14. Like last year, this year’s launch event too will take place in virtual reality. The company has already sold its Loop VR headsets via Amazon India for those interested in following the event.
OnePlus 3 specifications and features: As per leaks, the OnePlus 3 is likely to feature a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, and a Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor. It is expected to be available in six variants 16GB, 32GB and 128GB variants with 4GB of RAM, and another three storage variants with 6GB of RAM onboard.
A 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera too are expected. The smartphone is also likely to feature a 3,000mAh battery with fast-charging Dash Charge support and connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port. On the software front, it is expected to run on Android Marshmallow-based OxygenOS.
