The OnePlus 3 is expected to launch sometime in the second quarter of this year, and a benchmark website may have revealed key specifications and features of the upcoming flagship smartphone. According to GizmoChina, OnePlus is hosting an event in Beijing on April 7, where the OnePlus 3 could be unveiled. This in contrast to earlier reports, which pegged early June as a likely launch timeframe. A OnePlus device with model number A3000 was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark website. It features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
The OnePlus 3 is also expected to feature 32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and it runs on Android Marshmallow-based Oxygen OS.
According to leaked photos, the upcoming OnePlus 3 will look very different from the OnePlus 2, and will also boast a dedicated camera shutter button. It is also expected to feature dual-LED flash at the back, an Alert Slider on the side, and a USB-Type C port.
OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau recently revealed the company’s plans to launch the OnePlus 3 sometime in the second quarter of this year. It however looks unlikely that OnePlus could unveil its flagship smartphone so early, and we would advise you to take this with the proverbial pinch of salt. What we know for sure though is that the OnePlus 3 will be more expensive than the OnePlus 2.
