OnePlus is less than two weeks away from unveiling its 2016 flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3. The upcoming smartphone has already been subjected to a lot of leaks over the past few months, revealing its design, specifications and features that are expected. It’s a six second video clip that just outlines the shape of the smartphone, but doesn’t really reveal anything about the design or features. The video also reveals that it will be officially unveiled on June 14 at 10PM (IST), which is not in line with the invite that the company posted on Weibo a couple of days back. Anyways, we do know that the unveiling will take place in its newly created virtual space station called ‘the loop’. The launch event will be live streamed in virtual reality and the company had also held a flash sale of its new Loop VR headset on Amazon India, earlier today. The headset VR headset will once again go on flash sale on June 7 at 12PM for Re 1 (shipping charges extra). OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has also confirmed that the smartphone will be offered without invites right from day one. OnePlus 3 specifications, features: The smartphone will bring major design changes as compared to its predecessor. From the leaked press renders that we have seen so far, the OnePlus 3 will come with full metal unibody design, and ditch the signature sandstone back finish.
The OnePlus 3 is likely to feature a 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The smartphone will likely be offered in 32GB and 64GB storage variants. In the photography department, a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera are expected.
The smartphone is also likely to pack a 3,000mAh battery along with ‘Dash Charge’ feature for fast charging. On the software front, the OnePlus 3 is expected to run Android Marshmallow-based OxygenOS. Connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and GPS are likely to be in tow.
According to a report on, MobiPicker OnePlus 3 will be offered in four different variants. The 32GB + 4GB RAM variant will be priced at 2,299 Yuan (Rs 23,400 approximately), 64GB + 4GB RAM will be priced at 2,499 Yuan (Rs 25,500 approximately), whereas the 32GB and 64GB variants with 6GB of RAM will likely set you back by 2,699 Yuan (Rs 27,500 approximately) and 2,799 Yuan (Rs 28,500 approximately), respectively.
