China-based smartphone maker OnePlus has just announced the rollout of the latest versions of Open Beta builds for OnePlus 5 and 5T devices in the market. The updated builds bring the Open Beta update to version 21 for OnePlus 5 users and version 19 for OnePlus 5T users. These builds don’t come with groundbreaking changes and instead, OnePlus has focused on fixing bugs in the software in addition to under the hood improvements. The updated builds also come along with the October 2018 Android security patch.

For the people who may not be aware of the Open Beta program by OnePlus, this is similar to a public beta program by the software company. As part of the program, OnePlus rolls out new test builds allowing users to enroll for the Open Beta program. If you are a OnePlus 5 or 5T user then you can download the latest Open Beta builds from the OnePlus website to try on your device. You should note that Open Beta builds are likely to be less stable and reliable than the stable build that the company rolls out every couple of months in the support period of their devices.

If you are running the Open Beta on your OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T then this update should appear as a traditional OTA update. However, those on the stable channel can move over to Open Beta by following OnePlus’ flashing instructions.

The company also asked users to make use of the integrated feedback tool in the OnePlus Community App to submit their feedback of bug reports. This announcement comes right at the same time when OnePlus announced the launch of its latest flagship smartphone in the market, the OnePlus 6T.
