OnePlus 5 is slowly becoming the Galaxy S8 prior to its launch with its leaks and rumors showing up every other day. While leaksters battle it out to determine the correct placing of the dual cameras on the OnePlus 5, the company has been taking its sweet time to tease its upcoming flagship. OnePlus has been rather discreet with its flagship device, and has so far confirmed just the name — OnePlus 5 — and its partnership with DxO for better camera technology. OnePlus has now shared a teaser hinting on a possible color variant for the OnePlus 5. OnePlus tweeted an image of four different colors with the caption, What 5should the color of your next phone? The word play with the number 5 replacing the letter S confirms that the teaser is for the OnePlus 5. The four different color options include black, a mixed hue of aquamarine and light magenta, deep red and a dark shade of gold. Amongst the responses to the tweet, many people seemed to prefer a combination of black and red. However, the second color, which OnePlus calls Unicorn does stand out and would be a unique choice if the OnePlus 5 is offered in this color variant.

OnePlus has so far launched its smartphones in three color options of Midnight Black, Soft Gold and Gunmetal. The company took a different turn this year by launching the OnePlus 3T Collette edition, which comes in a royal blue color. Seeing how the company is taking steps in bringing a change with the design and look of its smartphones, the OnePlus 5 could be launched in a new and unique color variant. Multiple OnePlus 5 rumors and leaks reveal a horizontal setup for the dual cameras, while others insist on a vertical setup. There has however been no information on the specifications for the dual rear cameras on the OnePlus 5. The smartphone has instead been rumored to sport a 23-megapixel or 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. According to past rumors, the OnePlus 5 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with 2K resolution. The smartphone will most likely be powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 2.35GHz and paired with Adreno 540 GPU. There could be two variants of the OnePlus 5 in terms of memory and storage. One variant would come with 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage and the other with 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage. The smartphone could be fuelled by a 3,600mAh or a 4,000mAh battery along with Dash Charge technology. On the software front, the OnePlus 5 will possibly run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
