OnePlus launched the much-anticipated flagship device, the OnePlus 5, in India yesterday. The smartphone went on sale via Amazon India yesterday for the first time, and given all the buzz, it was hardly shocking to see the smartphone go out of stock. For those still planning to get their hands on the OnePlus 5, the company has now announced that the open sale for the flagship device kicks off on June 27. The slate grey variant of the OnePlus 5 with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 32,999, while the midnight black variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is be priced at Rs 37,999. Those who are planning on buying the OnePlus 5 can also take advantage of a host of introductory offers. These include Amazon Pay credit, Kindle offers, cashback from SBI, accident cover from Kotak, and data offers from Vodafone.
Those using either a SBI credit or debit card will get flat Rs 1,500 cashback, but this offer is only valid between June 27 and June 28. The cashback is valid only once per card account over the two days. Apart from that, sign in on the Amazon Prime Video app on the phone to get Rs 250 cashback in Amazon Pay balance. All OnePlus 5 users will be eligible for 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify on downloading the Kotak 811 savings app, and activating it with an initial deposit of Rs 1,000. OnePlus users who have a Vodafone prepaid SIM, will get 10GB of data per month at the price of 1GB for five months on buying the smartphone between June 22 and September 30. Similarly, postpaid users will get 9GB of additional data free for five billing cycles if they are on plans with 1GB data or more. Apart from this, Amazon is also offering 10GB of extra free data per month for three months via logging into the MyVodafone app for Vodafone Red users with 4G SIM. Lastly, Kindle users who purchase the handset between June 22 and July 31 will get promotional e-book credit worth Rs 500 when logging into the app from the smartphone.
OnePlus also announced that the smartphone will come with Paytm Quick Pay, which means one long press of the fingerprint sensor, and you will be diverted to the Paytm payment page. While the device is available via Amazon India, the company has announced that it will also make the smartphone available via pop-up events across Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. To recap on the specs, the OnePlus 5 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. As far as the battery is concerned it has a 3,300mAh unit with support for Dash Charging. It comes with a dual-camera setup featuring 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual rear cameras and a 16-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture.
