While OnePlus is getting ready for the launch of the OnePlus 5 next week, the flagship smartphone has reportedly opened up for registrations in China already. Moreover, around 75,000 people are said to have already registered to book the device on the day of sale. The OnePlus 5 is due for its official launch on June 21, while the smartphone will be globally unveiled in the US on June 20. The India keynote event is scheduled to take place on June 22 in Mumbai.According to MobileXpose, a leading Chinese e-commerce website JD.com has commenced OnePlus 5 registrations ahead of the launch. To our surprise, the registrations are still live and at the time of writing this well over 1,00,000 people had already registered to buy the OnePlus 5 which is expected to go on sale shortly after the launch. It is worth mentioning that registration doesn’t ensure a purchase. Interested buyers in China can register themselves to have an early access to the OnePlus 5 sale. In India, the OnePlus 5 will be sold exclusively on Amazon India and company has confirmed that the sale will be open and will not use any invite system. OnePlus 5 is among the most anticipated smartphones of the year and the team at OnePlus has been sharing a lot teasers lately, keeping the hype around the smartphone up and running.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau recently teased the camera performance of the upcoming smartphone. From a recent picture shared by the OnePlus Chief on social media, the OnePlus 5 promises improved low-light photography perfomance with great balance between the hightlights and the shadows. So far, the OnePlus 5 is confirmed to sport a dual rear-camera setup and it will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC. The smartphone is expected to come in two variants offering 6 GB RAM with 64GB storage and 8 GB of RAM with 128GB storage. Although uncomfirmed, the two variants are expected to retail at around Rs 32,999 and Rs 37,999 respectively.
