OnePlus 5 is all set to launch in India in the coming days and right before the launch, the company has revealed what the phone will look like. Capitalizing on the large viewership and excitement during the final ICC Champion’s Trophy 2017 match between India and Pakistan, OnePlus released an advertisement for the upcoming phone. The advert shows the phone in complete detail and reveals multiple features of the device. The glimpse of the device is given right at the beginning and towards the end, nearly the entire rear panel of the phone is revealed. The glimpse does hint at the phone design staying true to the leaked renders. OnePlus 5 is expected to be slimmer and come in a more classy design. Before the latest advert, OnePlus India had also shared another video with a host of Bollywood celebrities play with the phone and talk about it. The phone in the video is in black and comes with the standard OnePlus logo on the rear panel. Also Read - OnePlus - Oppo integration: What this partnership means for smartphone users?
It is now confirmed that the phone will come with dual rear cameras, as the video shows and highlights the same. The camera lenses are placed horizontally on the top left of the phone with the flash right next to the camera module. Additionally, the video also shows the antenna lines running parallel to the top and the bottom of the phone. OnePlus 5 is expected to come in a full metal body with the physical home button with the fingerprint sensor below the display. OnePlus 5 specifications, features
OnePlus 5 specifications have leaked multiple times in the past and as such, there’s nothing left secret. The dual camera resolution, presumably the most exciting part about the phone, will be 16-megapixel (for both cameras). The front camera is most likely to come with 8-megapixel resolution. The phone will run the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 GPU. OnePlus 5 is expected to come with a 5.5-inch FHD display and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
OnePlus 5 will be available in 64GB and 128GB internal storage variants. Both the variants will be accompanied by 6GB or 8GB RAM respectively. The phone is expected to be powered by 3,300mAh battery. Though there is nothing known of the price so far, the base variant of the phone is expected to be priced starting over Rs 30,000. The phone will take on the present flagships like Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6, HTC U11 and others in the country.
While the global OnePlus 5 will be revealed tomorrow, June 20, Indians will have to wait a couple of days more as the phone will come to the country only on June 22. Shifting away from tradition, OnePlus has held a launch event inviting fans and selling tickets for the same. There has already been a whole lot of excitement and there have already been 300,000 registrations for the device on the Chinese site JD.com, even before the announcement.
OnePlus 5 replaces OnePlus 3T, which was announced as a sort of mid-year upgrade to the OnePlus 3. While OnePlus has discontinued sales of OnePlus 3T in most markets, the phone will continue to be available and supported in the country till December 2017.
