OnePlus 5 is among the worst kept secrets, and numerous leaks have given us a fair idea of what to expect from the smartphone. Just recently, we came across a teaser hinting at possible color variant for the OnePlus 5. Now, OnePlus founder Liu Zuotu has confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will come with a front fingerprint sensor. The CEO made the confirmation on Weibo (spotted by GizmoChina). While a front fingerprint scanner is nothing extraordinary, but the fact that the CEO has confirmed the news adds to the list of “confirmed” features of the upcoming phone. Talking about unconfirmed rumors, the OnePlus 5 is long being rumored to feature a dual-camera setup. However, we are unsure whether the camera will be placed vertically or horizontally since leaks suggest both. Moving forward, in terms of design, the OnePlus 5 could look a lot like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, if leaked renders are to be believed. Apart from that, the OnePlus 5 comes with slim bezels, similar to the OnePlus 3T. Apart from this, a new leak also suggests that the smartphone might ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The OnePlus 5 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 2K resolution display. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 2.35GHz under the hood. The smartphone is expected to launch in two variants — 6GB RAM +64GB storage and 8GB RAM +128GB storage.
There are also rumors suggesting that the smartphone could sport a 23-megapixel or 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. We have also come across alleged OnePlus 5 camera samples.
Battery bit of the smartphone is also sketchy at the moment with leaks suggesting that the smartphone might be fuelled with either a 3,600mAh battery or a 4,000mAh battery. It will also support company’s Dash Charge technology. On the software front, the OnePlus 5 is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The company might launch the new smartphone in black, a mixed hue of aquamarine and light magenta, deep red and a dark shade of gold.
