The OnePlus 5 will be officially unveiled tomorrow on June 20, and the India launch will take place on June 22. OnePlus itself has confirmed few specifications over the last few weeks with occasional teasers and posts on social media. The smartphone will be powered by a 2.35Ghz octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC, which is presently the top-end chipset. Rumor mills also kind of calmed down regarding the camera on the OnePlus 5, when the company itself confirmed the dual rear camera setup in one of the teaser images.
However, the horizontally aligned dual-camera setup and design aesthetics of the OnePlus 5 have been harshly criticized for sharing the resemblance to the Apple iPhone 7 Plus and the recently launched Oppo R11. OnePlus politely defended the design and asked users to wait till the smartphone is launched.

From what we can see in the leaks, the OnePlus 5 features a design which is slightly different from the legacy design principles seen on previous OnePlus smartphones. The smartphone also has the good old 3.5 mm audio jack on board and on contrary to the rumors, OnePlus 5 still has the fingerprint sensor in the home button on the front panel, which was speculated to be moved to the rear panel. From what we know so far, OnePlus 5 is said to sport a combination of 16-megapixel and 12-megapixel camera sensors on the rear panel with LED flash placed out of the camera ring. The company is also said to have collaborated with DxO Mark to improve the camera performance on the upcoming flagship smartphone. OnePlus team with CEO Pete Lau has posted a number of images on social media accounts showing of the camera performance we have to admit the results so far looks impeccable. OnePlus 5 is also said to boast of improved low-lighting performance. Up front, it is likely to sport a 16-megapixel selfie snapper.
Looking at the rumored spec sheet, the smartphone is said to feature 6GB of RAM along with 64 GB or 128 GB of storage on-board. Reports also suggest of another variant with 8GB of RAM along with 128 GB storage, again non-expandable. It is confirmed to sport a Full HD (1080p) display, which is alleged to be 5.5-inch in size. The smartphone is also said come with Dash Charging support as seen on OnePlus 3T.

OnePlus 5 promises some great specification and the company has placed all its bets on the “flagship killer’. The company is reportedly said to place the smartphone slightly higher on the price point. Earlier reports suggest the OnePlus 5 could be the most expensive OnePlus smartphone ever. Looking at the rumored prices, OnePlus 5 with 6GB RAM is likely to set you back by Rs 34,999, while the higher variant with 8GB RAM storage is said to priced at Rs 37,999. While leaks have given a rough idea of what to expect from the smartphone, we also know that it will be going on sale exclusively via Amazon India.
