With a few months having passed since the launch of the OnePlus 5, its successor’s launch is now imminent. Past week, there were rumors and leaks around the potential launch of the OnePlus 5T. The company has now started sending media invites for a launch scheduled to take place on November 5 in China. Although the smartphone isn’t specified, the teaser carries the letter T. This leaves no doubt that the OnePlus 5T is indeed going to be launched.
There isn’t much that can be drawn from the invite. The smartphone is outlined, and clearly the sides have almost no bezels at all. The top bezel is also visibly very thin. At the center the letter T is visible. Last year, after a few months of the OnePlus 3 launch, the company unveiled its successor, the OnePlus 3T with few upgrades. This time, the OnePlus 5T will possibly come with a more prominent upgrade over the OnePlus 5 according to leaks.
The design in particular will be the talking point of the OnePlus 5T. The smartphone’s leaked renders show a design with almost no side bezels and thin top and bottom bezels. Interestingly, the OnePlus 5T sports a look very similar to the Oppo F5. If you recall, a similar incident occurred with the OnePlus 5, which resembled the Oppo R11. Other than its design, rumors around the specifications front are quite bleak as of now. What is expected though is a 6-inch edge-to-edge display with 18:9 aspect ratio on the OnePlus 5T. If the reports are to be believed, then OnePlus would join the increasing line of companies launching smartphones with edge-to-edge display. The OnePlus 5T will presumably come with improvements as it succeeds the OnePlus 5. ALSO READ: OnePlus 5 Long Term Review: Still feeling the power
