The OnePlus 5T, launched back in November 2017, came in just a single color option Midnight Black. An additional color option subsequently made its way to India in the form of the Sandstone White Star Wars limited edition. Now, buyers will be able to choose from a third color option Lava Red. While the option was briefly out of stock, it’s now back in stock on Amazon India.
The Lava Red color option was initially launched only in China in late November 2017, but has now made it’s way to India. The color is only available for the Rs 37,999 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant of the OnePlus 5T, and will be available via Amazon India and oneplusstore.in today. There are no differences in the product it’s still a OnePlus 5T deep down inside. If you’re looking for the more affordable 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant, you’re limited to just the Midnight Black color option for the time being.
However, that color looks absolutely fantastic. With a dull matte finish and a striking shade of red, the OnePlus 5T Lava Red Edition will appeal to buyers that are looking for something other than the usual black. Depending on what angle you look at the phone, or the light shining on it, that shade of red might look a bit different. When we first took a look at the phone, it looked almost pink to us. However, a few hours later, we were back at it, trying to figure out just what shade of red this is. It’s also worth noting that the fingerprint sensor at the back is also red to match the look of the rest of the phone, as are the antenna lines at the top and bottom.
Notably, the company has also announced the launch of the Sandstone White OnePlus 5T in the US, which is practically the same as the Star Wars limited edition in terms of color and texture, but without the Star Wars logo at the back. There’s no word on when or if this will be launched in India.
