If you are a Star Wars fan, and can’t wait for The Last Jedi to hit the screens, this is going to make your day. And if you are also a OnePlus fan, buddy you have had your 2018 made too. At the Comic Con Bangalore event, OnePlus unveiled a teaser video to confirm the launch of a new OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition smartphone. OnePlus is yet to reveal the launch date and other details about the special edition device. And we are expecting to know more details about it in the coming week.

However, from what we do know, this Star Wars edition OnePlus 5T is likely to be exclusive to India. It will feature a customized software themed on Star Wars, and a redesigned exterior featuring a white finish on the back of the device with a black OnePlus logo under the fingerprint sensor and a red Star Wars logo adorning the bottom.

As we can make out from the posters, the front of the special edition OnePlus 5T retains the same black finish, as do the volume and power buttons. The alert slider now stands out in stark contrast to the white and black with a red accent.

OnePlus has really been into special edition. Last year, it released the special Colette edition of the OnePlus 3T, which presented the device in a matte black coloring with the Colette logo on the back. Soon after, OnePlus released a Midnight Black limited run of the OnePlus 3T. That edition became so popular that the Midnight Black color then made its way to the OnePlus 5 as one of the standard, non-limited versions. The OnePlus 5 itself also received a special, rather extravagant Castelbajac edition, also sold through Colette. Continuing this tradition with the OnePlus 5T, OnePlus launched a limited Lava Red version for the Chinese market.

Launched just a few weeks ago in India, OnePlus 5T features a 6-inch full-HD+ Optic AMOLED screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. This is one of the primary changes that we see on the OnePlus 5T from the OnePlus 5. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, and comes with a 3,300mAh battery which supports the company’s Dash Charge fast charging technology.

The camera of the OnePlus 5T retains the specifications of the OnePlus 5, although the secondary 20-megapixel sensor at the rear is different to that on the OnePlus 5. Also, the OnePlus 5T sports the fingerprint sensor at the rear, and comes with the new face recognition for lock-screen security, which is a new addition. Connectivity options include dual-SIM with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
