With the OnePlus 6T definitely on its way, the OnePlus 6 seems to have lost some of its value for buyers who need to buy a phone immediately and can’t wait till November. In order to counter than and help keep the OnePlus 6 relevant in the build-up to the festive season in India, the company has announced a price-drop on the phone on Amazon India. The e-commerce site announced that the 6GB RAM / 64GB version would be sold at Rs 29,999 during the Amazon Great Indian Festival, a discount of Rs 5,000. While this would have been significant incentive to invest in a OnePlus 6 even now, potential buyers will be disappointed to know that the 6GB / 64GB variant is already out of stock on Amazon India. The low starting price has meant that the most affordable version has been the most popular option during the sale by far. The 8GB RAM / 128GB storage and 8GB RAM / 256GB storage options are also available at a Rs 5,000 discount and are in stock. However, the prices of these variants are Rs 34,999 and Rs 38,999 respectively. Also Read - OnePlus Nord CE gets first software update: What’s new, how to download
This will be disappointing for potential buyers, given the Great Indian Festival sale from Amazon has just started today. The OnePlus 6 at Rs 29,999 was being marketed as a flagship deal during the sale, and the inability to cite the sub-Rs 30,000 price tag will mean that other smartphones such as the Asus Zenfone 5Z and Xiaomi Poco F1 regain their price advantage over the OnePlus 6.

It’s possible that the 6GB RAM / 64GB variant will come back in stock, given that it’s still showing as ‘In Stock’ on oneplus.in (albeit at the full price of Rs 34,999). However, considering that there’s just about three weeks to go for the new phone, it’s likely that we may not see the 6GB RAM / 64GB version of the OnePlus 6 in stock again, as OnePlus gears up to bring its newer smartphone to the market, the OnePlus 6T.
